Online feedback questionnaire
The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is updating and modernizing its building and plumbing bylaw using the Municipal Insurance Association of British Columbia (MIABC) core model bylaw as a template.
In addition, the municipality has proposed changes to how building permit fees are calculated in a new fees and charges bylaw.
The building bylaw updates will improve clarity and consistency about roles and responsibilities of builders and the municipality through the construction process. Building bylaw updates in turn will support other departmental improvements.
While 80 per cent of the MIABC core model bylaw is standardized, 20 per cent of the bylaw can be adapted to Whistler’s local community needs.
We are seeking community insight into these three (editable) areas:
- Fees and charges
- Unrestricted matters
- Implementing a Certified Professional Program
We want to hear from the building community and broader Whistler community—anyone who is interested in or affected by these bylaws. Your insights will help shape the building bylaw to meet Whistler’s unique building needs.
