Reimagining Taluswood Neighbourhood Park

The Taluswood Neighbourhood Park project aims to transform an underused park into a vibrant, neighbourhood park that meets the needs of the Taluswood and Nordic Estates neighbourhoods.

The Taluswood Neighbourhood Park was built in the ‘90s by Intrawest as part of the Taluswood development. It was then transferred to the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW).

The park has developed two sinkholes, which has made the two tennis courts in the park unusable.

In 2022, the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) completed a geotechnical review of the site. The estimated cost for excavating the fill material causing the sinkholes and rebuilding the tennis courts was evaluated at more than $1 million. This exceeds the RMOW’s available budget.

While we explore geotechnical issues, we want to listen to the community and envision what’s possible for the future of Taluswood Neighbourhood Park. We want to work with the community to design a park that fits within our budget for construction and maintenance.

If you live in Nordic Estates or Taluswood, we want to hear from you.

Let us know your priorities for activities and amenities in this neighbourhood park.
