On shared unceded L̓il̓wat7úl and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh territory

Purpose

The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to allow the development of a 110-unit workforce housing building adjacent to the Whistler Athletes Centre along with new community serving uses: community centre, and child care. For the AC3 zone, the bylaw amendments reduce the minimum parcel size to allow the subdivision of a new parcel for the workforce housing building, add proposed new community serving uses, reduce setbacks, increase permitted height. The AC1 Zone will be modified to reduce the minimum parcel size to allow the proposed subdivision, and to remove the off-street parking requirement for Athlete’s Centre.

The Resort Municipality of Whistler is grateful to be on the shared, unceded territory of the Lil’wat People, known in their language as L̓il̓wat7úl, and the Squamish People, known in their language as Sḵwx̱wú7mesh. We respect and commit to a deep consideration of their history, culture, stewardship and voice.
